We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive VAT Specialist to join our Business Services Center in Warsaw. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting VAT returns and other indirect tax reports across multiple countries in EMEA region. You will collaborate with finance and accounting teams, ensure compliance with local tax regulations, and support audits and contribute to process improvements. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in building a standardized VAT process and developing a Center of Excellence within our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file VAT and other indirect tax returns within statutory deadlines.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and plan action on Indirect tax account aging balances.
  • Prepare and Review SOX control for VAT accounts.
  • Maintenance of evidence to support tax filing positions and future audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and internal policies.
  • Review and research international tax law for tax planning, accounting and compliance purposes.
  • Provide advisory support to business and finance teams on VAT and indirect tax matters.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing the required documentation.
  • Ensuring effective, pro-active communication with external and internal stakeholders (accounting and finance teams, auditors, external advisors, and tax authorities) on tax-related matters.
  • Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Identify, initiate, and support the continual process improvement to ensure the quality and efficiency of processes and systems within the tax function.
  • Support and contribute to finance transformation and related tax and multi-functional projects.
  • Support on implementation of the ITX reporting solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in VAT compliance and reporting, preferably in a shared service center or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and experience in VAT compliance, especially with German and other EMEA countries.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), German//Spanish/French will be a plus.
  • Knowledge ERP system – SAP / S/4 HANA preferred.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with deadlines.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
