The Salesforce Team is part of the Commercial Enablement organisation and acts as a strategic business partner to Sales, Marketing, Service, and other commercial functions. The team supports global business operations by driving digital transformation, improving commercial processes, and maximising the value of our Salesforce ecosystem.

You will join a multinational Salesforce organisation responsible for a highly customised Salesforce environment supporting more than 2,700 users across the Biosystems Group. You will work closely with Architects, Developers, Business Analysts, and fellow Administrators to ensure a stable, scalable, and user-friendly platform.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Salesforce Administrator to take a leading role in the day-to-day administration, support, and optimisation of our Salesforce platform.

This is a hands-on technical administration role focused on Salesforce configuration, security, user support, data management, declarative automation, Experience Cloud administration, and operational excellence.

You will act as the senior member of the local administration team, providing technical guidance and best practices to two junior Salesforce Administrators while serving as an escalation point for complex platform and user-related topics.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to maintain a high-quality Salesforce environment, support business users effectively, improve platform governance, strengthen automation quality, and drive efficiency through smart use of technology and AI-enabled productivity tools.

This role offers 100% remote work within Portugal, with the option to work from our Porto office.

Salesforce Administration & Configuration

• Manage the day-to-day administration of a highly customised Salesforce ecosystem supporting 2,700+ internal users worldwide, as well as partner and customer users.
• Perform advanced Salesforce configuration activities, including fields, record types, page layouts, profiles, permission sets, public groups, queues, territory management, reports, dashboards, assignment rules, email templates, and Salesforce CPQ administration.
• Manage and optimise user access, security settings, permissions, sharing, governance controls, and platform administration standards.
• Administer and support Salesforce Experience Cloud / Customer Portal capabilities, including user access, sharing settings, profiles, permission sets, authentication-related support, and customer or partner support processes.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex Salesforce administration, declarative automation, and support requests.
• Collaborate with Architects, Developers, and Business Analysts to ensure scalable and sustainable platform solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform usability, efficiency, governance, user adoption, and automation quality.

User Support & Operational Excellence

• Ensure timely and high-quality resolution of Salesforce support requests.
• Support and continuously improve administration processes, standards, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior Salesforce Administrators.
• Create and maintain user documentation, training materials, and knowledge articles.
• Deliver troubleshooting support and occasional training sessions for business users.

Data Management & Platform Quality

• Execute and support mass data maintenance activities using tools such as Salesforce Inspector, Data Loader, and Salesforce Import and Export tools.
• Support data quality, cleansing, enrichment, and governance initiatives.
• Contribute to post-merger integration activities, including data migration, validation, and reconciliation.
• Monitor platform health and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

Automation, DevOps Awareness & AI Productivity

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot declarative Salesforce automation, including Salesforce Flow, validation rules, approval processes, assignment rules, duplicate rules, and related automation logic.
• Understand release and deployment coordination practices, with familiarity in Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce Change Sets considered a plus.
• Actively leverage AI-powered productivity tools to improve efficiency, documentation quality, analysis, and support operations.
• Explore and promote practical use cases for Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI-enabled technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative activities and streamline daily operations.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through the adoption of innovative ways of working.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Administration experience.
• Salesforce Administrator Certification.
• Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification.
• Strong knowledge of the Salesforce Security Model, user and permission management, data management, reports and dashboards, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce Administration best practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Flow, validation rules, approval processes, assignment rules, duplicate rules, and declarative automation troubleshooting.
• Experience administering Salesforce Experience Cloud / Customer Portal users, access, sharing, profiles, permission sets, and support processes.
• Experience supporting medium-to-large Salesforce environments with hundreds or thousands of users.
• Experience using Salesforce Inspector and Data Loader.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification.
• Salesforce CPQ experience.
• Experience supporting global Salesforce organisations.
• Experience with post-merger integrations and large-scale data migration projects.
• Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps and deployment tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce Change Sets.
• Experience using Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI assistants, or similar productivity-enhancing technologies.
• Experience coaching or supporting junior Salesforce Administrators.
